Literacy changes lives.
The Newland Center is a small grassroots organization with an annual opperating budget of under $100,000 that relies heavily on volunteers. The Newland Center depends on businesses and individual donors to sustain our basic but life-transforming literacy services. Thousands of adults have gained literacy and English language skills through this support.
As adults gain literacy skills and confidence, they open doors to employment, make positive contributions to our society, and inspire their children to learn.
When The Newland Center opened in 1990, Phyllis Newland took on the challenge of helping adults in Syracuse who were marginalized by illiteracy and poverty. This extraordinary transformation - one adult, one family, and one community at a time - is only possible with your support. Thank you very much!
