Ride for Literacy
Registration Fee
Join your fellow cyclists on a Ride For Literacy. This fundraising event will benefit adult learning and literacy programs at The Newland Center.
The ride takes cyclists through some of the most scenic and historic roads in Upstate New York. We will begin at the Chittenango Canal Museum at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 15th (overnight parking is available for 2-day riders). We will stop for lunch at the Cazenovia Country Club and end day one by 4:00 pm at Colgate University (35-40 miles per day). For riders looking to log in a few more miles at the end of day one, give the Tri-City Ramble a try - this is an extra 16-mile loop.
Dinner will be served on campus with an opportunity to explore the historic town of Hamilton for the evening. Overnight lodging is provided by Colgate Universtiy with a hearty breakfast the morning of day two.
We will depart Hamilton at 9:00 am on Sunday, June 16th and stop for lunch at Peterboro Green, once a stop on the underground railroad and home to abolitionist Gerrit Smith. Riders return to Chittenango by 4:00 pm.
Full support, including transportation of luggage, water stops, sag vehicle, daily cue sheets describing roads, and brightly marked turns on the pavement will be provided. Riders of all levels are welcome since this is a ride and not a race.
To register: complete your registration below and
submit the $25 registration fee. Raise a minimum of $250 for the 2-day ride and a minimum of $125 for the 1-day ride.
